India’s first convertible luxury SUV is finally here! Jaguar Land Rover has launched the new Range Rover Evoque Convertible in India today at a price tag of Rs. 69.53 lakhs (ex-showroom, India).
The Evoque Convertible is available only in a single variant, HSE Dynamic. It is powered by a new 2L, Ingenium petrol engine produces 240 BHP of power and 340 Nm of peak torque. It is mated to a 9-speed automatic transmission that powers all four wheels. Its claimed 0-100 km/h sprint time is of 8.1 seconds, and a top speed of 217 km/h.
The car is built on a reinforced monocoque chassis and also gets reinforced door panels. The car uses a fabric Z-folding Convertible Roof System that is electrically operated and it takes about 20 seconds to get into the boot and can work up to speeds of 48 km/h. The roof is made of an acoustic inner lining which reduces road noise and improves cabin insulation. An optional wind deflector is also on offer, which gets fixed behind the seats, to reduce the air draft from the rear when the roof is down. There is also a pop-up roll-bar that deploys in case if there is a danger of a rollover.
The car also gets features like adaptive LED headlights, HUD, 360-degree surround view camera, park assist, tailgate open/close gesture control and Wi-Fi hotspot (from the customer sourced SIM) as a part of the InControl Touch Pro infotainment system.
