Toyota has finally launched the second generation of Innova in India, the car which has been the No. 1 MPV of India for 11 years. The new car has been christened as Innova Crysta and is launched at a starting price of Rs. 13.83 lakhs (ex-showroom, Pune).
The new Innova Crysta has been priced in the range of Rs. 13.83 lakhs to Rs. 20.77 lakhs (ex-showroom, Pune).
Toyota Innova Crysta has been built on the same platform as that of its predecessor and gets a completely new and attractive design on both inside and outside. The Innova Crysta is now longer and wider in size than the old Innova.
The Innova Crysta is offered in both manual and automatic transmissions. The manual transmission will come in four variants, namely Zx, Vx, Gx & G while the automatic transmission will come in two variants – Zx & Gx.
The 5-speed manual transmission Innova Crysta is powered by a 150 BHP, 2.4L diesel engine and the 6-speed automatic variant is powered with a 174 BHP, 2.8L diesel engine. ARAI certified fuel economy for the 2.8L engine is of 14.29 km/l and for the 2.4L engine is of 15.10 km/l. Both the engines also get the Eco and Power driving modes.
In terms of safety, Toyota has equipped the top trim of Innova Crysta with seven airbags, ABS, EBD, brake assist, stability control and three point seatbelts for all occupants, there is also a seatbelt for the middle passenger in the third row who gets a three-point harness that rolls out from the roof. All variants of manual and AMT transmission get 3 airbags, ABS, EBD and brake assist as standard. The car also offered in in 7 and 8 seater options.
