Piaggio makes the most gorgeous scooters sold in India and another hot looker from the Italian company is coming to India this September. The Vespa series of automatic scooters will get a new addition called the Elegante. The Elegante will be based on the Vespa Primavera. The scooter will use the Vespa VX platform and the main differences between the Elegante and the VX125 will be the styling and the pricing. The Elegante’s ex-showroom price could be Rs. 79,000. The Elegante will use a triangular front grille and the round headlamp will be retained. The seats of the Elegante will adopt a split design to give it a retro look. Pearl White and Marrakech Brown are two new colours that may be introduced on the Elegante to give it a look that makes it stand out from other automatic scooters in the market. Don’t be surprised if your dad asks you to buy him one due to the retro design of the Elegante.

Since the Elegante is based on the Vespa VX125, the scooter will share its engine and gearbox with the VX125. A  125cc four stroke petrol engine will be offered in the Elegante. This engine features a three valve head and produces 10 PS of peak power and 10.06 Nm of peak torque. Tubeless tyres and a disc brake for the front wheel will be two other major features on the Vespa Elegante. A drum brake will handle braking at the rear wheel. In March, Piaggio launched the Vespa S automatic scooter. The Vespa S is the most expensive scooter sold by Piaggio in India. Recently, the company also launched an Esclusivo of the Vespa VX that gets a paint job and slight styling changes. Piaggio has also displayed the Vespa 946 at the Auto Expo and the super stylish scooter will be launched in the coming months.
