TVS has expanded its RTR 200 range by launching the new – TVS Apache RTR 200 4V Race Edition 2.0 with a slipper clutch. The motorcycle has been launched in three variants and prices of each of them are as follows – Carburettor -Rs. 95,185/-, Fuel injection – Rs. 1,07,885/- and Carburettor with ABS (dual-channel) – Rs. 1,08,985/- (all prices are ex-showroom, Delhi).

What’s new on this bike? The Race Edition 2.0 gets an A-RT (anti-reverse torque) slipper clutch, racing-inspired graphics and a new fly screen (as seen on the ethanol-fuelled concept motorcycle at Auto Expo 2018). The bike also comes with optional race spec Pirelli tyres for additional track-focused performance.

Power comes from the same 197.75cc, single-cylinder engine that produces 20.21 BHP @ 8500 rpm (Carb)/20.72 BHP @ 8500 rpm (EFI) and peak torque of 18.1 Nm @ 7000 rpm (both).

The A-RT Slipper Clutch technology is not really very different from a conventional slipper clutch. The A-RT slipper clutch reduces 22% clutch force during quicker upshifts. It also lessens the effects of engine-braking when the rider decelerates or downshifts, and avoids wheel-hopping while cornering, by keeping the vehicle stable with the back-balance torque limiter effect. It also ensures sharp and precise gear shifts with minimal efforts.
