Jeep Compass Launched In India At Rs. 14.95 Lakhs (Ex-Showroom, Delhi)

Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) has launched the locally assembled Jeep Compass in India at a starting price of Rs. 14.95 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi). It is the third model to be offered in the country by Jeep and the first model to be locally assembled.

The Jeep Compass is available with 2L Multijet Turbo-diesel and 1.4L Multi-Air Petrol engine options. The Diesel model is offered with 6-speed manual transmission and the Petrol model with a 6-speed manual as well as a 7-speed automatic transmission. The diesel engine produces 173 PS of power and 350 Nm of torque and the petrol model produces 162 PS and 250 Nm respectively. The diesel model is offered in five variants while the petrol is offered in three variants.

The company will start retails on August 6, 2017,  and will deliver the diesel manual transmission variants first according to the vehicle’s pre-bookings. The petrol automatic transmission variants will be delivered closer to Diwali.

The Jeep Compass is assembled at the company’s Rangangaon facility and it will be made for the domestic as well as the RHD international markets. Over 65% of the Compass’s parts have been sourced locally.

The top-end of the car gets a 4WD system and Jeep’s Selec-Terrain traction system. The Compass is a feature rich vehicle as it gets features such as a 7-inch touchscreen with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, an electronic parking brake and dual-zone climate control and many other. It is also one of the safest SUVs as it gets 50 safety and security features.
