Audi has finally launched its flagship SUV Coupe, the Q8 in India at Rs. 1.33 crores (ex-showroom, India).

The new flagship model is being offered as a CBU import, and only 200 units are allotted for the Indian market.

The Q8 is the first SUV Coupe in India to be based on Audi’s new design language which will be carried by India-bound Q3 and Q7. It looks sharp and sporty as it features LED headlights and full width LED taillights, massive front grille, frameless doors, coupe-like roofline, flared wheel arches, and steeply raked rear profile.

The interior seems to be inspired by Audi’s flagship sedan, the A8 and comes loaded with a lot of equipment.

The Q8 is available in only one trim and with only one engine option, and that’s a 55 TFSI petrol engine. It’s a 3L, V6, turbo-petrol that produces 340 BHP and 500 Nm of torque. The motor is paired to an 8-speed torque converter Tiptronic (automatic) transmission. The SUV Coupe comes with all-wheel-drive Quattro tech and a 48V mild-hybrid system as standard. The 0-100 km/hr sprint is achieved in a claimed 5.9 seconds.

It gets a petrol engine only as Audi has opted to wait and watch the BS6 diesel era in the country for their approach towards the diesel engines.
