The 2024 iteration of the Kawasaki Z650RS has made its debut in India with a price tag of Rs 6.99 lakh, ex-showroom. This marks a modest increase of Rs 7,000 from its predecessor, considering the additional enhancements incorporated into the 2024 model.

A standout feature of the 2024 Z650RS is its traction control system, which offers two distinct modes. The first mode allows riders to enjoy a sporty riding experience with minimal interference from the traction control system, ideal for proficient riders or optimal riding conditions. Conversely, the second mode heightens the system’s sensitivity, intervening earlier to prevent potential accidents, particularly in scenarios with low grip levels such as wet roads.

Furthermore, riders have the option to deactivate traction control entirely, suitable for situations where optimal conditions prevail or for those inclined towards performing wheelies.

Retaining much of its predecessor’s design, the 2024 Z650RS boasts a captivating modern-retro aesthetic characterized by a round LED headlight, sleek fuel tank, and compact tail section. Beneath the stylish exterior lies a robust steel trellis frame akin to that of the Kawasaki Z650, supported by conventional telescopic fork and monoshock suspension systems.

The bike rides on alloy wheels reminiscent of classic spoke designs, complementing its retro-inspired theme. Braking prowess is ensured by dual 272mm front discs and a 186mm rear disc.

Powering the Z650RS is a 649cc parallel-twin engine generating 68bhp at 8,000rpm and 64Nm at 6,700rpm, mated to a six-speed gearbox.

In terms of features, alongside the traction control system, the Z650RS boasts all-LED lighting, a twin-pod instrument cluster with analog dials, and a central LCD display providing essential information such as fuel level, engine temperature, and gear position.

Positioned as an enticing alternative to bikes like the Triumph Trident 660, the Z650RS is currently available in Ebony Metallic Matte Carbon Gray. Enthusiasts eagerly anticipate the introduction of additional color options, such as Green and Red, to provide a more diverse selection in the market.
