The Japanese automaker Yamaha silently launches their flagship superbikes – 2015 YZF-R1 and YZF-R1M in India at Rs. 22,34,300/- and Rs. 29,43,100/- (all prices ex-showroom, Delhi). Both these superbikes are offered via CBU route in India.
Yamaha had recently showcased these latest superbikes at 2015 EICMA.
The YZF-R1 is available in Racing Blue and Racing Red colours while the R1M gets a single Silver Blu Carbon colour choice.
The mill of street legal superbike R1 is a 998cc, 4-cylinder engine that churns out 200 PS of power at 13,500 RPM with 112.4 Nm of torque at 11,500 RPM. The engine is mated to a 6-speed gearbox and this superbike is based on a new aluminium deltabox frame and weighs 199 kgs only.
Yamaha’s track only R1M gets the same mill – 998cc crossplane 4-cylinder, 4-valve engine churning out 200 PS at 13,500 RPM and 112.4 Nm at 11,500 RPM, mated to a 6-speed constant mesh gearbox. The additional things are, it comes with Electronic Racing Suspension (ERS) that adapts to the conditions. It also gets Communication Control Unit (CCU) that helps the rider to record lap times, running data, lean angle, throttle position and much more. This bike weighs 200 kgs i.e 1 kg more than the R1.
