2020 Skoda Karoq Launched In India At Rs. 24.99 Lakhs (Ex-Showroom, India)

Skoda India has launched a new 5-seat SUV, the Karoq in India at Rs. 24.99 lakhs (ex-showroom, India). It is imported in India as a CBU under the 2500 car import rule and is offered in a single fully-loaded variant only. It was also showcased at the 2020 Auto Expo.

 

The new Karoq replaces the Skoda Yeti which was discontinued in India a long ago and is placed below Skoda’s flagship 7-seat Kodiaq SUV.

In terms of the design, it takes inspiration from the Kodiaq and hence looks quite similar to it with clean and sharp lines. It features a panoramic sunroof, 17″ alloy wheels, full-LED headlights, and much more.  The interior of the car gets a dual-tone black and beige treatment. It gets all-digital Virtual Cockpit, a 3-spoke steering wheel, and an 8″ touchscreen infotainment system.

This new Skoda India’s SUV is powered by a 1.5L TSI, 4-cylinder, turbocharged petrol engine, mated to a 7-speed automatic transmission. The motor produces 147.5 BHP of power and 250 Nm of maximum torque. It delivers fuel economy of 16.95 km/l and has a top speed of 202 km/h. It also comes loaded with Active Cylinder Technology which increases the fuel efficiency by deactivating 2 cylinders out of 4 depending on the power requirement.

As the new Karoq is offered in a single and fully-loaded variant, it boasts a lot of features like cruise control, iBuzz Fatigue Alert, dual-zone climate control, Rough Road Package that protects the engine bay, oil sump, gearbox, etc, headlights with AFS (Adaptive Front-lighting System), 12-way electrically adjustable driver’s seat, ambient lighting, SmartLink connectivity, etc.

On the safety front, it gets 9 airbags, ABS, ESC, EBD, MBA (Mechanical Brake Assist), MKB (Multi Collision Brake), HBA (Hill Brake Assist), ASR (Anti Slip Regulation), EDS (Electronic Differential Lock), electromechanical parking brake with Auto Hold function, TPM,  engine immobiliser, parking sensors, and KESSY (Keyless Entry, Start, and exit SYstem) with engine start/stop button.
