Skoda India has recently unveiled its latest offering, the Kylaq SUV, alongside announcing its initial pricing. This compact SUV, designed to compete with the Tata Nexon in the sub-four-metre category, has a starting price of Rs. 7.89 lakh (ex-showroom). The full pricing for all Kylaq variants is scheduled to be revealed on 2 December. Following the launch, the first images of the base variant’s interior have been released, showcasing its design and features.
The Skoda Kylaq will be available in four main variants: Classic, Signature, Signature+, and Prestige. The entry-level Classic variant includes essential features such as 16-inch steel wheels, a manual interior rearview mirror, power windows, push start/stop button, manual air conditioning, rear AC vents, a front center armrest, adjustable headrests for all seats, and six airbags for enhanced safety.
In comparison to the higher-end versions, the base model lacks some premium features. Notably, it does not include an infotainment screen, digital instrument cluster, steering-mounted controls, cruise control, auto-dimming interior rearview mirror, automatic climate control, powered and ventilated front seats, or an electric sunroof.
Under the hood, the Kylaq SUV is powered by a 1.0-litre TSI petrol engine. This engine is available with both a six-speed manual transmission and an automatic torque converter. It delivers an impressive output of 114 bhp and a peak torque of 178 Nm, making it a robust contender in the compact SUV market.
With its blend of essential and optional features across variants, the Skoda Kylaq aims to provide flexibility and value to consumers seeking a compact SUV with Skoda’s quality and reliability.
