The Nissan Magnite, originally launched in India in 2020, is set to receive a facelift to keep pace with its competitors. The upcoming 2024 model will undergo cosmetic updates and feature enhancements to maintain its appeal in the compact SUV segment. Here’s what we can expect from the refreshed Magnite.
Exterior and Interior
While the overall design of the Magnite will remain largely the same, the facelifted version will sport some cosmetic upgrades. These include a new grille, updated headlamp clusters, L-shaped LED DRLs, reworked bumpers, and stylish 16-inch alloy wheels. Inside, the five-seater crossover will retain its familiar cabin layout but with some enhancements, such as dashboard tweaks, the addition of a single-pane sunroof, and six airbags for improved safety.
Powertrain
The 2024 Magnite will likely continue with the same engine options as the current model. This includes a 1.0-liter three-cylinder petrol engine and a 1.0-liter turbo-petrol unit. The naturally aspirated engine will be available with a five-speed manual or a five-speed AMT, while the turbocharged engine will offer both a five-speed manual and a CVT transmission option.
Launch and Competition
Nissan is expected to launch the updated Magnite in India on October 4, 2024. It will compete in the compact SUV market against popular models like the Maruti Suzuki Brezza, Tata Nexon, Hyundai Venue, Mahindra 3XO, and the forthcoming Skoda Kylaq. Its closest rivals will continue to be entry-level compact SUVs such as the Renault Kiger, Maruti Suzuki Fronx, and Tata Punch.
