MG India is set to unveil the facelifted version of its popular mid-size SUV, the Astor. Ahead of the official announcement, the updated model has been leaked, showcasing its refreshed exterior design and interior enhancements.

The leaked images reveal that the new MG Astor will feature a revamped color scheme. Notable exterior updates include sleeker LED headlamps with daytime running lights (DRLs), a redesigned grille with a quilted diamond pattern, an aggressive bumper with large air dams, and a front camera. A blue accent on the nose hints at the SUV’s hybrid capabilities.

The side profile of the Astor remains largely unchanged, retaining its blacked-out pillars, roof, and ORVMs. Additional features include a silver accent on the skid plate and silver-finished roof rails. The facelifted Astor will also sport redesigned dual-tone alloy wheels.

At the rear, updates are minimal but noticeable. The Astor will have redesigned LED taillamps, a silver garnish on the bumper, a rear wiper with a washer, an extended roof spoiler with a high-mounted stop lamp, and a shark fin antenna.

Interior spy shots reveal a sophisticated all-black theme. The dashboard has been updated to feature a twin-display setup for the infotainment system and instrument cluster. The steering wheel now includes various controls. The most significant change inside is the new center console, which features a smaller gear selector lever, an electronic parking brake, and a wireless charger.

While details about the powertrain remain sparse, it is expected that the new Astor will continue with the existing engine options, enhanced with hybrid technology to improve fuel efficiency and performance.

Upon its release, the facelifted MG Astor will compete in the mid-size SUV segment against the likes of the Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder, Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, and Honda Elevate.
