Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd., today announced the launch of the world’s newest EV brand, Automobili Pininfarina.
Automobili Pininfarina will be based in Europe and the company will design, engineer and manufacture high technology, extreme performance, luxury electric vehicles for the most enlightened customers globally.
Automobili Pininfarina with its automotive design expertise and with Mahindra’s growing electric vehicle (EV) expertise, plans to launch its first Pininfarina badged electric hypercar model in the year 2020.
This EV company will be led by Michael Perschke (Ex-MD, Audi India), and the first Pininfarina badged electric hypercar manufactured will be capable of doing the 0-100 km/h sprint in 2 seconds and the 300 km/h sprint in 12 seconds and it will also be capable of doing a top speed of over 400 km/h. The range of the hypercar will be over 500 km on a single charge.

of seeing outstanding innovative cars solely branded Pininfarina on the roads”.
“Drawing upon the pedigree and design vocabulary of the Pininfarina aesthetic heritage we will develop a rare collector’s item that only a handful of connoisseurs will ever own. It will be an innovative and pioneering product powered by high technology”, said Anand Mahindra, Chairman, Mahindra Group.
This announcement was made on the eve of the Formula E Rome e-Prix, in which Mahindra Racing is one of the leading competitors.
