What is a 4 wheel drive ?

A 4 wheel drive, or a 4X4 drive is a vehicle with a drive train which gives torque to all the four wheels of a vehicle simultaneously. It is mostly used in SUVs, off – roaders, tourers, trucks, sports cars MUVs and other heavy duty vehicles. Advantages –
i. Greater stability and maneuverability
ii. No wheel slip
iii. Better control in case of snowy/ muddy roads and extremely bad terrains
iv. Enhanced traction control
